Sightseeing

The Opal Coast is full of treasures to discover and has many tourist assets: fine sandy beaches, cliffs, natural areas, dunes, marshes, many historical monuments such as the old town of Boulogne-sur-Mer, the citadel of Montreuil-sur-Mer, the Column of the Great Army and the belfries of Boulogne-sur-Mer, Dunkirk, Calais, listed as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO…

But its main assets are the Grand site des Deux-Caps with the Cap Blanc-Nez and the Cap Gris-Nez located between Boulogne-sur-Mer and Calais and the national sea center “Nausicaá”, the main attraction and the most visited of the destination as it is the largest aquarium in Europe.

The area was also marked by the two World Wars and some remains such as the bunkers along the coast between the two capes, symbols of this military presence, offer the experience of a tourism of memory.
